Roberto’s greatest sporting achievements consist of competing at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India, where he made two finals finishing 7th in both the 400m Individual Medley and the 200m Butterfly despite suffering illness. The following year he went on to make the final, finishing 8th in the 400m Individual Medley at the 2011 FINA World Swimming Championships in Shanghai, China.
As a senior swimmer Roberto has also competed in the European Championships in Budapest, Hungary in August 2010. He will also represent Great Britain at the 2011 European Short Course Championships in Poland next month.
As a junior swimmer Roberto won two gold medals at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Belgrade, Serbia at the age of 16. Then over two years (aged 17-18) he won 4 medals at the European Junior Championships, including two golds.
Roberto aspires to be part of the 2012 London Olympic Team and has been swimming competitively for twelve years to achieve this dream.
