Essex Sports Awards

Entrance for Essex Sports and TEA Awards

The Essex Sports awards have been celebrating the achievements of the best of sport in Essex since 2006.

These awards celebrate and congratulate the talented athletes of Essex and the people in Essex who help make sporting success happen.

2011 was this first year that the Essex Sports Awards were presented at a joint prize giving ceremony with the Team Essex Ambassadors' Award 2012. This was a fantastic moment that really celebrated the abundance of sporting inspiration and potential in Essex, many of which will compete on the World stage just a few months later at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Essex Sports Awards has been recognising talent across community and professional sport since the 1990s.

Since  2006 when the BBC came on board, winners have automatically been nominated for the BBC East Regional Sports Personality of the Year Awards.
