Competitions and achievements

2009

• Involved in his first major race of the year competing in the 20km walk at the Gran Premio Citta di Lugano walk, which was a European Grand Prix event.  Finished in 10th place in 1 hour 28 minutes and 33 seconds, placing Dominic top in the GB rankings for 20 kilometres race walk.  This was Dominic's fastest 20km time for nearly five years
• Selected to compete in the Men's 50km walk for Great Britain in the forthcoming European cup of Race walking on 24 May
• Currently ranked number 2nd in GB in both for 50 kilometres walk.

2008

• 2nd in the London Open Walks 10km walk
• 17th and achieved a personal best in the EAA permit Race, Dudince, Slovakia, 50km wak
• 2nd in the Sheffield Open Yag Grand Prix 10km walk
• 59th my best position in a world cup for the IAAF World Cup of Race Walking, 50 KM walk

Highlights

• From May 2009  personal best for 50km is 4 hours 16 minutes and 19 seconds

Team Essex Ambassadorial Duties

• Attended the the launch of the Upstarts 2012 Healthy LIfestyle and Legacy Project, which is aimed at giving young people, who would not normally get the opportunity, the experience of an elite athlete in terms of support to become active, reaching their potential, developing their confidence and improving their health and well being through cooking and healthy eating
• Took part in the Essex Beacon Status application by starring in a promotional film about the Team Essex Ambassador Award
• Spoke at the Team Essex Ambassador's Award Cerenomy
• Working with Ramsey School, Halstead as part of the Schools Sports Partnerships
• Forthcoming projects will include helping the Healthy Schools Initiative and promoting the benefits of Sport and Exercise to local schools.
• Journey to the Podium - working with artist Ron Suffield

Impact of the Team Essex Ambassador Award

• Dominic has undertaken many changes in his training and support for competition and trainign since receiving his ambassadorial grant.  The main change for his training has been the inclusion of regular physio and massage support from his local physiotherapy centre.
