Team Essex Ambassador's Award

The Team Essex Ambassador's Award has been established by Essex County Council to provide meaningful grant aid aimed at top level athletes in the county who have the recognised potential to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.  In return they become sporting ambassadors for the county, and will work with a School Sports Partnership within Essex to inspire Olympic and Paralympic values in schools in the community. Some of the athletes are also be involved in the Journey to the Podium  a Cultural Olympiad project that involves artists and heritage professionals using our Team Essex Ambassadors as a subject for a piece of art work that's uniquely inspired by the London 2012 Games and will represent a legacy in Essex from the Games.
