The activities in these cards are inspired by athletic track and field events and designed to help develop hand-eye coordination, an understanding of how objects with a different mass travel at different rates and gross motor development, using large muscles like legs to run and jump. Following the first Early Years Olympic education card a second card has now been produced for Early Years settings. The card gives settings further information about London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and themes settings can use.
Ten Early Years settings across Essex have been selected to be Early Years Olympic Ambassadors. The settings will be working with their children and families on Olympic themed projects. Over the next year case studies will be gathered and shared with other Early Years settings.
