The London 2012 Olympic Mountain Bike Events
On 11 and 12 August 2012 The London 2012 Olympic Mountain Bike Events will happen at Hadleigh Farm in South Essex. The course at Hadleigh Farm has been constructed to take advantage of the unique landscape located between Hadleigh Country Park and Hadleigh Castle on the Southern coast of Essex looking out over the Thames Estuary.
The Mountain Bike track itself is located mainly on private farm land owned by The Salvation Army; it borders Hadleigh Country Park and includes a small section of the country park on its 5K length.
Apart from the course, the venue itself is largely composed of temporary structures and temporary operational arrangements. As a bespoke elite competition course for the London 2012 event, the Hadleigh Farm venue is not open to the public to use, however view points over the course linked to neighbouring Hadleigh Country Park will be open to visitors between March- May 2011 and September 2011 – April 2012.
