The brand new Lee Valley White Water Centre is one of the best artificial venues for white water activities anywhere in the world.
With two brand new, purpose built courses, including the 5.5m high 300m long Olympic Standard Competition course, Lee Valley White Water Centre will play host to the exciting canoe slalom events. The venue is just 20 miles (30km) from the Olympic Park in Stratford. Lee Valley White Water Centre is the only brand new 2012 venue which the public can use and enjoy before the Games.
It is the best white water venue of its type anywhere in the world and will be welcoming thousands of visitors keen to try the adrenalin charged rapids both before and after the Games. 60,000 spectators will visit the Centre over the course of the Games to watch 5 days of thrilling events and with British medal hopes high, home support is expected.
The venue is the perfect place to host the Olympic canoe slalom events with a course that will test the determination and technical ability of all the competitors. Specially built grandstands and facilities ensure that spectators will be able to enjoy all of the action in comfort.
The venue is open for the public to experience until April 2012.
