London 2012 Get Set website re-launched

29 Apr 2010

The London Get Set website was recently re-launched and now gives real time updates on registrations.

This re-launch is a direct result of feedback from website users, stakeholders and partners.  The changes and new functionality that  have been introduced aim to:

  • Make it easier for teachers and students to find their way around the website, and to find the content and resources tha they are looking for.
  • Raise the profile of initiatives, programmes and opportunities run, in association with Get Set, by our partners through the 8 strands of the programme
  • Provide users with a flexible platform on which to build new content and opportunities in the future, both as London 2012 and with our partners

The main new features of the site are:

1) The homepage – this now provides the opportunity to profile news stories, opportunities and initiatives in real time, making sure that the right messages are available to the right people at the right time. The homepage has been designed to highlight images, films and breadth of content  tell interesting stories to audiences through this page.

2) Get Set +  have re-branded the ‘Go Further’ section of the programme as ‘Get Set + (both on and offline).  This change will make it clearer to everyone that the programmes running the 8 strands are truly a part of the Get Set family, inspired by the Games and helping young people to learn about the Values.

3) The video player (launched through the homepage) –  Images and videos are the most used content from the website and the most talked about in schools and colleges. A brand new player has been built which is more flexible, and can feature more films in one place and profile partners' films.

4) Up to the minute stats about registrations and Get Set network members by nation, region and local authority are now available from this link: http://getset.london2012.com/en/join-us/registrations-in-your-region

A resource search tool has been added which allows teachers to search the site for specific content and introduce related content across the website allowing relevant opportunities to be flagged to users.

Plus, a searchable map, a bank of brand new Get Set network case studies, and a map which features every single member of the Get Set network.
