High Easter Walk

On 25 July 2010 High Easter Parish Council organised 5km and 10km walks around High Easter as part of London 2012 Open Weekend. This event was free and supported by the Essex County Council Rural Community fund to encourage sport and physical activity to take place in rural area through the inspiration of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
60-70 participants including over 25 young people and an additional eight volunteerrs were involved.
Everyone met at High Easter Village Hallat 10:00 where they boarded two busses. Group one were dropped off near Willingale for the 10km walk and group two were dropped off at Margate Roding for the 5 km walk. Everybody including the many dogs enjoyed the event and stayed for refreshents. The event finished at 15:00.
