Fun day event at Alresford Village

On Sunday 25 July 2010 40 people took part in a fun day event at Alresford Village Playing Field organised by Alresford Colne Rangers Football club as part of London 2012 Open Weekend and the Essex rural community fund.
The event received funding from Essex County Council to hold a sporting event during London 2012 Weekend in attempt to get people in rural communities engaged in sport and physical activity through the inspiration of the London 2012 Games.
32 young people took part and 12 volunteers were invoved.
The event ivolved four sesions of ball games and paper rocket launching with lunch and a BBQ. Instruction was given followed by practice time and then a competition. The emphasis was on team work, fun and exercise
