Essex Schools participate in the Winter School Games

On Wednesday 18 January 2012 three venues in Harlow were host to the Winter School Games. This was the first school Games to be held in Essex seeing schools across Greater Essex competing at county level.

900 pupils/65 schools were involved in six sports taking place across Harlow Leisure Zone, Batts Table Tennis Club and Mark Hall Sports Centre, Harlow.

Sports included Tag Rugby, Basketball, Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis, Table Cricket.

Essex is also participating in the Spring School Games 20 March 2012 at Garon Park, Southend-on-Sea and Summer School Games, June 2012. Essex are creating a year-round sporting calendar, with around 30 sports available, specifically designed to get young people competing at intra-school and inter-school levels and culminating in local, regional and national events.
