On Saturday 24 July 2010, the Marks Tey Inerbike team organised a cycle ride and fun day at their base in Marks Tey Colchester as part ofLondon 2012 Open Weekend and the Essex Rural community fund.
In the morning they had a good number of approximately 40 people turn up for the cycle club run, ranging from people on MTB, Road cyclists, randonneurs and even tandems! This was a 45km ride which was split into 2 groups.
During the day, there was lots of cycle related fun and games in Marks Tey Interbike including music and entertainment, turbo racing and cycle competitions for best dressed bike and refreshments!
In the afternoon, they had the fun ride with about 35 people in families and couples who participated around thier circuit of 5.2km. On return, everyone who took part received a medal, a goodby bag and a london 2012 open weekend sticker to say thankyou for participating in London 2012 Open Weekend.
