‘The Open Weekend celebrations provide a great opportunity for all the communities of Essex to be involved in the run up to the 2012 Games. By providing small grants to groups across the county, we can offer the chance for people to participate in sports and physical activities in their local area‘.
Seb Coe Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) said:
‘Open Weekend will lead the nation into the two-year countdown to the start of the London 2012 Games, with new personal bests being set right across the UK’.
