
Essex County Council wants its residents to feel part of the London 2012 Games. A number of funding opportunities have been made available to ensure that communities and groups have the chance to take part in sport, arts and cultural activities in their local area.
Celebrate Your Fete’ is a scheme which hopes to encourage the communities of Essex to celebrate the London 2012 Games, by offering a £400 grant to community groups to give a 2012 boost to a local celebratory fete or event. Read more>>
The Arts in Essex Small Grants Scheme is funded and run by Essex County Council. Up until 31 March 2012, the scheme will award funding to projects that link in with a schedule of events planned across Essex creating the spectacular showcase event ‘Sparks will fly’. This major project will create a lasting legacy for arts, heritage and culture in Essex and is inspired by the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
The Arts in Essex Small Grants scheme runs twice a year.
In 2011 Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services (CAVS) and Essex County Council awarded grants to local community groups located near the Hadleigh Farm Olympic Venue towards community projects reflecting the ethos and values of Olympic and Paralympic Games.
