Celebrate your Fête in 2012 is part of the Essex 2012 Legacy celebrations
Parishes, towns and voluntary organisations in Essex are getting involved in the celebrations leading up to and during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by organising local celebratory fêtes and events for London 2012. Some organisations have been awarded small grants from Essex County Council's 'Celebrate your Fete' initiative to help with their London 2012 Games inspired celebrations. 'Celebrate your Fete' event organisers are also London 2012 Local Leaders.

About 'Celebrate your Fête'
After the exciting announcement of the Torch Relay Communities on Route across Essex, groups and organisations in the communities of Essex were invited to Join in the Essex Legacy 2012 Celebrations by enhancing or organising an event that the community can take part in to help celebrate the 2012 Games. This could be an existing event such as a fête, or sports festival that could offer so much more to all the community with the addition of a little funding,or it may be a new event that a community has always wanted to organise.
All successful applicants are also part of the London 2012 Local Leaders initiative.

Local Leaders
All successful recipients of the 'Celebrate your Fête' funding are will be signing up to the London 2012 Local Leaders Initiative. Watch this space to see what they do.
