The London 2012 Games presents a unique opportunity for businesses in Essex. Not only will numbers of visitors to the county be high, but with two separate events being held locally there is significant potential for increased trade in a range of industries.

Business in Essex

The Hadleigh Farm and Lee Valley White Water venues will offer businesses the chance to win a variety of contracts before the Games begin and also during the events themselves.

In Essex we’re confident that it will be “business as usual” during the Games, seeing this as a chance for Essex based businesses to make the most of the county’s heightened exposure before, during and after The Games.

London 2012  ‘Preparing Your Business for the Games’ guidance.

Government Departments and Olympic delivery partners including LOCOG, ODA and the GLA have been working closely to produce guidance for businesses highlighting the key impacts that the Games could have on the running of business and offering some basic advice on how to manage those impacts. The guidance addresses impacts in areas such as staffing, internet and home working, telecoms, energy and water supplies and security as well as key messages on travel disruption.

Guidance has been published on the LOCOG website with advice to businesses on the opportunities and challenges which may arise before, during and after the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  This guidance will be reviewed periodically until the Games start.
