Download an application form and either complete on-line and submit or print off and send to us by post (Or collect an application form from your local library or Volunteer Centre) and complete and send to us at: Essex Ambassadors Applications, C326 County Hall, Chelmsford Essex CM1 1QH or email it to us. Applications will close on the 31 October 2011 so please make sure you send us your completed form by that date.
Your application form will be forwarded to your nearest Volunteer Centre* who will carry out the short-listing. If your application is successful they will contact you to arrange to meet you at the Volunteer Centre for an informal interview. This will enable us to tell you more about the role and find out whether it’s right for you. The interviews are likely to take place during November 2011– February 2012. You will be asked to bring a form of ID to the interview which will be necessary if you are to become an Essex Ambassador. (The Volunteer Centres have hundreds of other volunteering opportunities which might interest you too.)
If we think you could make a good Essex Ambassador the Volunteer Centre will take up references from the referees you have provided on the application form, and carry out other safeguarding checks including an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
The Volunteer Centre will contact you to let you know whether or not you have been successful and will tell you what to do next. All successful applicants will be appointed by the 31 March 2012.If you are not successful, please don’t worry – there are lots of other volunteering roles across Essex that might be more suitable for you and the Volunteer Centre will be able to help you find an alternative.
