
There are many ways you can be part of it, whether you’re helping to host the largest sporting event in the world, getting active and making use of the fantastic sporting facilities in Essex, or taking part in the range of public events being held throughout the county.
You can be part of it though Volunteering, the Torch Relay community celebrations, taking part in some of the London 2012 inspired events in the county such as Walking your way to the Games - organised walks for all abilities; or through the Essex Legacy 2012 celebrations and other cultural events that have inspired creativity in the county such as Journey to the Podium, or sign up to the Gold Challenge where you can learn a new Olympic and Paralympic Sport as well as raising money for charity and many more.....
Over the summer, Essex people have been part of it through London 2012 Open Weekend - the national celebration of one year to go until the London 2012 Games, SX Urban Games - festival of street sport and dance and Essex Summer of Art-trail of art exhibitions throughout the county.
