In order to celebrate and nurture this potential, each year Essex County Council supports 12 athletes through the Team Essex Ambassador's Award scheme that provides meaningful grant aid to top level athletes in Essex who have the recognised potential to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
