Essex Legacy Action Plan
Following extensive consultation across Essex, Southend and Thurrock, the Essex Legacy Action Plan was launched in November 2006 to secure a legacy from the 2012 Games. It offers an invitation to all organisations, councils, companies, groups and individuals to play their part in this once in a life time experience.
The Action Plan is made up of 13 Action Areas, each of which will bring unique benefits to Essex, Southend and Thurrock.
Each Action Area contains a menu of opportunities totalling 135 actions that could take place between now and 2012. The majority of these actions are already included within other existing or developing strategies. The value of their inclusion in the 2012 Legacy Action Plan is the increased profile it will give them, as well as providing a catalyst to ensure they are delivered.
The Action Plan also includes 7 cross cutting themes which will be continually assessed to ensure the greatest impact across all the Action Areas. All cross cutting themes have been considered within the delivery plans and will be included in the implementation of each delivery area.
