Since 2009, artists have been commissioned by Essex County Council to follow an Essex athlete's mission to excel in their sport and compete at the London 2012 Games. During the process, the artists and athletes document their experiences and engage schools through educational workshops to develop and influence the final piece.
The collaborations have resulted in a collection of work that marks each athlete’s personal journey, capturing the essence of their personalities and sports.
